Lijiang Old Town

Tip: The main pedestrian streets near Sifang Square are pure souvenir shops — the real town is in the quieter lanes a few turns off the main drag.

Eat: Crossing-the-Bridge Noodles

Yunnan's signature dish: a scalding pork or chicken broth, sealed with a layer of oil so it stays hot, poured tableside over raw meat slices, greens, and rice noodles that cook in the bowl.
