How the 240-hour transit works
Ukraine passport holders can spend up to 10 days in China without a visa when — and only when — China is a stopover between two different places. The route must be A → China → B. Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan count as valid onward destinations, which makes itineraries like Ukraine → Shanghai → Hong Kong perfectly eligible.

Getting there from Ukraine
Ukraine's own airspace has been closed to commercial aviation since February 2022 and remains closed as of mid-2026, so there is no flight departing from inside Ukraine. Ukrainian travelers currently need to first reach a neighboring country's airport — Warsaw, Chișinău, and Bucharest are common starting points — before beginning any onward journey, including one to China.
